Design Process
Throughout my design process I focused on creating a clean, calming visual style through thoughtful use of color, typography, hierarchy, and imagery
Concept Development — I began by developing the concept for CalmKit with the goal of creating a digital space that makes mindfulness feel simple and approachable.
User Experience — Once the concept was established, I mapped out the overall user experience and considered how users would move through the app. I organized content and featured into clear navigation structure, focusing on keeping the experience straightforward.
Wireframing — I created initial wireframes to establish the structure and layout of each screen before developing the final visual design.
Visual Direction — With the structure in place, I developed a visual direction that reflected the calming purpose of the app. i explored color, typography, and other graphic elements to create a cohesive aesthetic that feels peaceful while still keeping the interface easy to navigate.
UI Design — I transformed the wireframes into polished user interface designs, refining each screen to create a consistent visual system throughout the app. I paid close attention to alignment, buttons, icons, spacing, and other interface elements to ensure the design felt cohesive from screen to screen.
Interactive Prototype — After completing the interface designs, I connected the screens in Figma to create an interactive prototype. I added navigation and interactions to demonstrate how users would move through the app and experience its features.
Refinement — The final stage focused on user testing and reviewing the overall experience. I evaluated consistency of the layouts as well as navigation and user interactions, making adjustments where needed to create a polished and cohesive final prototype.
CalmKit was an opportunity to explore how thoughtful visual design and user experience can work together to create a meaningful digital product. This project strengthened my skills in UI/UX design, visual communication, and the Figma program.
